Saint Ni Lightning Protection retractable lightning rod is designed for temporary and mobile direct lightning protection where permanent systems are unsuitable. It uses a telescopic mast that extends from 6 to 15 m and retracts to less than 2 m for transportation and storage.

Product Structure

The system consists of a telescopic mast, lightning receiving tip, lifting mechanism, self-locking system, base plate, and grounding connection. The cylinder features a wear-resistant sealing treatment to improve resistance to moisture, dust, and outdoor corrosion.

After reaching the required height, the locking mechanism secures the mast. The grounding terminal can be connected to a copper down conductor, grounding strip, or grounding electrode to establish a temporary lightning current dissipation path.

Mongolia Solar Camp

Project: Temporary Lightning Protection Project for the 30 MW Open-Air Solar Power Construction Camp in the Southern Gobi Desert, Mongolia.

The project covered an open solar construction site with frequent thunderstorms and strong desert winds. Because the construction camp would operate for only 18 months and then be relocated, a permanent concrete foundation was unsuitable.
